My wife Terry and I purchased a SCAMR home in December 2008 and moved full time in 2014.
Prior to retirement, I graduated from the University of St. Thomas and worked in Information
Technology (IT) designing computer networks. After 32 years in IT, Terry and I decided to move from Minnesota to sunny Arizona.
The goal was to golf everyday… then I met Rich and Dee Rochel, who changed my golfing goal to pickleball.

My wife, Terry and I moved to SCAMR from Kansas in December 2019. We are full time residents here.
I have been a member of the SCAMR Pickleball Club since early 2020. I have participated in club activities including club meetings, open play, shoot outs, round robins by skill level, club socials and have been a member of two Arizona Pickleball Players Association teams representing our club.

In my previous career, I was a teacher for many years in the early childhood elementary grades. With my late husband’s career in 3M sales, we lived in various locations of the US where we were active in tennis and golf. After retirement, I picked up the sport of pickleball and fell in love!
Since moving to AZ in 2015 and becoming a full time resident, I’ve actively pursued opportunities here with our SCAMR club.
I have been involved over the years with our APPL teams as both a player and a co-captain, and an active participant in our mentoring programs. I am currently a coordinator for our Women’s Ladders program and will be a mentor this season with the 2.5 players.

I’ve been a club member since 2020 and have volunteered for a number of club events, including the highly successful first “Dink Fest” as a court monitor. I am also a member of the ball machine team and the court cleaning crew.
I’m retired and have been here full time for the past 2 years. So, my retirement schedule has some room for me to spend some time helping with the club.
I’m more of a hands-on guy than an administrator, so this position is more suited to me. I will do whatever is required to help the club keep on providing playing opportunities for it’s members.
